Battery and electrics

Flat batteries and electrical faults on motorcycles, step-throughs and scooters, at 63 Grammou Avenue in Ioannina.

A battery being tested with a multimeter on a motorcycle with its seat open, on the blue lift.

In winter, a bike that never leaves the garage drains its battery bit by bit. Then one cold morning the starter turns over slowly, or just clicks.

It may be the battery itself, but it may be the charging: a regulator or alternator that isn’t topping it up while you ride. Other times it’s a wire that has worked loose, or terminals furred up with white powder. We replace batteries and regulators, and repair starters and wiring.

Bring it in, too, when the indicators or the horn work when they feel like it, or the lights dim at idle.

If the bike is going to stand, the battery wants a maintenance charger. For everything else a bike needs before it is laid up, see our winter tips.

Book a time with a phone call, or tell us in the booking form what the bike is doing.
